5 ways to improve your skin

Let’s face it, winter is a friend to no one’s skin health… especially when half the country’s in lock-down and we can barely leave our homes. Plus, all that cold air, no sun and less exercise, it’s nasty. Not to mention the heating. Yes, we wouldn’t do without it, but it is one unforgiving biatch!

Before summer creeps back, we really need to get our facial skin health back on track and whip that crunchy leaf we call our facial skin back into shape. Here are 5 ways to get your skin fitness up.

Hydration, hydration, hydration

Yes, we’ve heard it all before, but it’s true. Making sure you a) stay hydrated and b) keep your skin hydrated is crucial!

Of course, there’s plain water but that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It tends to get pretty boring after your 5th glass. Anyway, it doesn’t have the electrolytes that your body needs.

Our suggestion? Look for some other options to keep up your hydration. Cactus Water or Prickly Pear Water is a new trending drink that has stacks of vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes that is perfect for healthy skin.

For your skin try Glow Skin with Prickly Pear seed oil. It’s the perfect pair to your Cactus Water drink.

Eat properly

Unfortunately, there are two things that are always true… you can’t out-exercise a bad diet, and your skin will always tell on you.

Good nutrition is a must for glowing, clear skin. It’s not a lot of fun, but reducing sugar (yep cut out those nasty soft drinks) and salt, eating loads of fresh fruit and veggies and keeping up the good fats will work wonders on tired, hungry skin.

Get your beauty sleep

It won’t just get rid of those ugly dark bags under your eyes, a good night’s shut-eye will give your skin time to rejuvenate, repair and rebalance. It will give you that plump, bouncy, fresh skin that everyone loves.

Keep your stress in check

Might be easier said than done, but keeping the stress down will improve your skin. It’s to do with those horrid hormones, or the lack of the good ones.

So, dust off that yoga mat, meditate, or do whatever works for you to reduce your stress.

Do things in combination, consistently

It’s not just one thing that will improve your skin. It’s a combination of things that work the magic. Find what combination works for you and stick to it! The key is consistency.
